SRMC Receives The World’s Most Advanced Newborn Patient Simulator
Thanks to the Emergency Medical Services Children’s Program the SRMC now has a tool to aid in training the medical staff how to better treat ill newborns through artificial intelligence. The Super Tory is the world’s most advanced newborn patient simulator. Super Tory can develop breathing problems, cardiac arrest, jaundice, even seizures, at the press of a button. Not only does Tory move her arms and legs, but she makes lots of sounds and facial expressions, which are important cues since babies can’t tell anyone what’s wrong. Thanks to the VI Department of Health who assisted SRMC in securing the grant for the acquisition of this state of the art training tool.
