National Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy Month

This month SRMC celebrates Occupational Therapy Month, a tradition that began nationwide in 1980.

SRMCs occupational therapists or occupational therapy assistants are part of a vitally important profession that helps people across their lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Occupational therapists' holistic and customized approach to evaluations, interventions, and outcomes helps support people of all ages. For example, assisting children with disabilities to acquire skills to participate in school and social situations, or a person recovering from injuries to regain skills, and aiding older adults in staying as independent as possible. These are just some of the specialized services offered by occupational therapists.

If you think you need or some you know may need occupational therapy services, call SRMC at 7768311 or log onto www.SRMedicalCenter.org
